I started doing
Crossfit about 2 months ago, on and off. I have to say that it has been a humbling experience for several reasons. One, I have gotten out of shape and 2 because most of the exercises I have never done before or have not done since I went to basic training 18 years ago.
I own a company that sells and services exercise equipment and thought about putting together a
Crossfit starter kit. Please let me know your experiences and challenges with your fitness routines.
This is a local link I use for
Crossfit.
Dane, my biggest challenge is that I've had to travel quite a bit for work, and has killed alot of my "routine"...
ReplyDeleteLuckily, I've recently discovered that Hilton Garden Inn's have a "Get Fit Kit" that you can have delivered to your room at no additional charge! It includes a yoga mat, rubber band thingy, ab ball, etc... so that you can work out in the comfort of your own room... or go down to the fitness center to get on the machines for cardio...
I try to only stay at Hilton Garden Inns now...
I started CrossFit in April, and it is the best thing that has happened to me fitness wise. I wish I would have known about it a long time ago. I wasted all those years doing 3x10's of useless non-functional exercises. Together we can do a workout in 5-10-15 minutes, and exert the same or more energy than someone who's been there working out for an hour.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's not only about the fitness. The CrossFit community (or cult as they like to call it), has been one of my favorite parts about CrossFit. This past week I visited our local box for my first time at a CF gym, and even though it was my first time there, they made me feel like I had always been there. We all share the same sweat, tears, and puke, and that brings us closer. We know that it takes a certain personality to be able to stick with CF, and together we respect each other.
I'm really passionate about CF as you can tell. I am a basketball player and through CF I have seen unbelieveable changes in my game that I couldn't have gotten any other way. It has led me to incorporate paleo into my diet and now not only am I training at a higher level, my diet is great and compliments it like no other.
I just wrote a great post about the whole community thing after my experience at the box. You can check out my blog at: http://www.tabatathis.com. I'm just a beginner blogger, but I needed a place to vent about my passion for CF and how paleo is complimenting it.
Keep up the work buddy. I don't know a thing about you but I already respect you because we're both CFers. Don't give up.
